9/28/2020 Splits

Hello everyone. Hope you had a great week. My week was so busy. Like I said that week my comp is the zone leader. So we have been all over the zone doing splits and doing things for the zone it was crazy.

Monday we had our Pday and when we were about to call home brother king called us and said he needed a book of Mormon ASAP. Then he called us and said that john was at the shop so we ran over there and taught the restoration and it was awesome. I really think we can get him baptized  soon. Tuesday we had DCM and that was super fun then just had member visits all day. Then on Wednesday my comp had MCL so I got put with some other elder in Clombia and spent the day with them and one of the elder I was with was from Rexburg Idaho and his name was elder Dalling and we like 2 cousins or something crazy like that.

Thursday we had splits in two little towns called florence and Marion SC that was super fun went to some really cool water tower and some good restaurants. On Friday we went to a members house and moved rocks for them. He is from Baltimore and he is like super funny/crazy he keeps telling us he will kick anyone butts for us lol. Then we meet with a member from Poland and taught him the plan of salvation it was awesome. His roommate was a little drunk so that made the meeting really fun. Then we went to this awesome college town and walked around and took pictures it was sooo cool amd it rained the whole time. Then on Saturday we went to Charlotte NC and did splits with them it was so cool they took us to the beach and we walked on the boardwalk so pretty as the sun was setting.  We also taught two new people Bella and allison and they were so interested and I think we will be able to get them on date by the end of the week ,🤞

On Sunday we had zero people show up to church that we asked to come so that was sad but there is always next time.

Hope you all have a good week. Love you guys. Stay safe.

CONWAY SC

Conway is a city in Horry CountySouth Carolina, United States. The population was 17,103 at the 2010 census,[7] and estimated at 25,956 in 2019.[8] It is the county seat of Horry County[9] and is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area. It is the home of Coastal Carolina University.

Numerous buildings and structures located in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places. Among these is the City Hall building, designed by Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument. Since the completion of the Main Street USA project in the 1980s, Conway's downtown has been revitalized with shops and bistros. Highlighting the renovation of the downtown area is the Riverwalk, an area of restaurants which follows a stretch of the Waccamaw River that winds through Conway.[citation needed]

Conway is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. Early English colonists named the village "Kings Town" but soon changed it to "Kingston". The town was founded in 1732 as part of Royal Governor Robert Johnson's Township Scheme. It was laid out on a bluff overlooking the Waccamaw River in what is now known as Horry County.

Many area residents fought in the American Revolution, and small engagements were fought near Kingston at Bear Bluff and at Black Lake. Francis Marion, who was known as the "Swamp Fox", had an encampment near Kingston just across the Waccamaw River.[citation needed] The areas of Kingston and Charles Town, S.C.[10] were communities with a higher population of Tories than many other Colonial American towns during the revolutionary war era. A Tory was a colonist who supported the government during that period.

After the war, patriotic citizens wanted to discard the name that honored Great Britain's King George II. The county's name was changed to Horry (pronounced "oh-ree") in honor of General Peter Horry in 1801, and a courthouse was established in Kingston. "Kingston" was later changed to "Conwayborough", for General Robert Conway. In 1883, the General Assembly changed the name to "Conway".

Off to the Mission field

Elder Fox Entered the Mission field September 16th, he left the Salt Lake airport at 6am (4am check in) and landed in Dallas TX at 9:30am then a 40 min layover then onto SC. He landed at 1:37 South Carolina time and is safe and sound.

We had some family and friends come to say their goodbyes and well wishes for Elder Fox, Makinley also came to say see ya in 2. We are glad she can stop by to see us anytime.

They ran into a passenger who took the 8 missionaries picture and sent it to their moms ;))

He will stay in a Hotel tonight and then have interview with the Mission President and then head to Irmo where he will get his companion and area.

Can't wait for this adventure to begin!!
