Off to the Mission field

Elder Fox Entered the Mission field September 16th, he left the Salt Lake airport at 6am (4am check in) and landed in Dallas TX at 9:30am then a 40 min layover then onto SC. He landed at 1:37 South Carolina time and is safe and sound.

We had some family and friends come to say their goodbyes and well wishes for Elder Fox, Makinley also came to say see ya in 2. We are glad she can stop by to see us anytime.

They ran into a passenger who took the 8 missionaries picture and sent it to their moms ;))

He will stay in a Hotel tonight and then have interview with the Mission President and then head to Irmo where he will get his companion and area.

Can't wait for this adventure to begin!!

Welcome Email 9/14/2020

Elders and Sisters,

We are the Assistants to President Monson in the South Carolina Columbia Mission! We would like to formally welcome you into our mission.

We are so excited to meet each of you when you arrive here in South Carolina, a few days from now! We wanted to give you an idea of what your first few days in the mission field will look like.

Wednesday, September 16th - We will pick you up from the airport with President and Sister Monson and bring you to the West Columbia stake center where we will have an orientation. Elders, please wear a suit. President will interview each of you either Wednesday night or Thursday morning. You will spend the night in a hotel.

Thursday, September 17th - We will pick you up from the hotel and bring you to the Irmo building. An incoming orientation will be hosted by our senior couples. You will then be paired with your trainer and leave for your new area!

We will ask you to do a couple of things so that your first night in South Carolina runs as smoothly as possible.

First, please arrange your luggage so that all of the things you need for your first night are in one suitcase. With so many of you, this is a must! This would include toiletries, a set of workout clothes for the morning, personal study supplies and clothing for the next day. Putting these things in one suitcase will allow us to load and unload luggage easily. This will make it possible to have all that you will need for your first night in the field.

The Lord is hastening His work, and you are each a big part of this effort! We testify that this is the most marvelous work that you will ever take part in during your time here upon the earth. We are so excited for you to join us! Travel safely.

Love,

The Assistants

Week 2 9/10/2020

Man what a week it has been for me. First off classes were awesome this week where and how to teach all five lessons from preach my gospel in 3 minutes or less my favorite is teaching the Plan of Salvation in 30 seconds it was hard but easy at the same time. This week I get at each and anna k one more fun fact she is from Russia and when you talk to her her English is not very good and her Russian kicks in 90% of the time but it's fun to teach her about prayer and the gospel and learn bit of Russian to. Is crazy this is my last letter in the MTC till I fly out next Wednesday at 6 a.m. .

Okay story of the week the winds were crazy my power went off Tuesday morning around 5 and try to do zoom up at my grandma's bs and their power went off in the middle of comp study and we had a lesson to teach that night I had to do zoom in my mom's bedroom 4/8 hours with her little phone let's just say it was weird not going to lie I did feel like the tree in my front yard was going to come to the house. But that didn't happen so that's all good I hope you all stay safe and your house didn't get that much damage to.

I helped Stockton spray painting his rims on his Jeep let's just say it looks like a totally different car it was fun to spend time with him before I fly out and might not see him for four years when he's on his mission and I get home
Lots of service this week with leaves and trees.

Want to do a couple shot up real quick shout out to Harley and Pierce for letting me do MTC at their house very fun to hear Liam screaming in the background as I'm praying. Shout out to Elder Cluff he started out in the field this week and shout out to other Elder siddoway he started MTC on Wednesday so proud of him and one last shout out to the to the best girlfriend ever for dropping me off Chick-fil-A on Friday for lunch

Love you all stay safe

Week 1, September 3,2020

hey everyone

Wow what a week i started at home MTC(luckily at my grandma Bs house)  and it is crazy classes all day and then just chill at home after till its time for bed. this week we learned how to teach non-member and less active members in a way that helps them learn and understand the gospel. my comp is Elder Poulson from payson utah he is going to my same mission excited to meet him in real life. My Pday this week was saturday and when you have nothing else to do after reading and study the BOFM for 6 hours, i had to get out of the house we we drove up to the Golden spike and Spiral Jetty and the great salt lake  to walk around and learn about the history. Besides hearing berk and easton fight in the back and my dad wanting to stop every five seconds for a picture and getting weird looks because we are the only family with out masks on it was very fun and the jetty thing was super cool. ( To bad i could get in a swim at the lake ).

i had my first teaching lesson with elder poulson we taught a less active member named Anna K  about the restored gospel it went really well we have two more appointments with her in a few days. there was lots of awkward silences but we at least got the message across to her and i was very surprised when she wanted to meet with us again. so hopefully it goes well the second time.

I WENT THRU THE OQUIRRH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 2 AND IT WAS AWESOME,  it was the coolest thing i have ever done i have never felt the spirit so strong before.  it is also crazy how strong the spirit is over the computer while i sit and listen to my teachers talk about this and i just feel the spirit tell me this. true and how crazy it is..

love you all stay safe

love Elder FOX
